17th-century Netherlands

Dutch Golden Age

Lamplit interiors, wind-bitten landscapes and unflinching portraits from the Dutch 1600s — Rembrandt, Hals, Ruisdael. Deep shadow, warm skin, a single fall of light.

As a puzzle

A slow, moody build. Rich mid-tones reward patience, but the large dark passages are genuinely hard — keep the count lower unless you want a long evening of it.

A good size here: 40–150 pieces.
