Cookies and Tracking
Last updated 11 June 2026
This page is short, because there is not much to tell. We set no tracking cookies of our own. The only outside party that may set any is the advertising that keeps the site free.
No tracking cookies of our own
We set no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies ourselves. What we do keep is listed below, and it stays in your browser.
Cookieless analytics
We use Umami to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they reach. It uses no cookies and collects no personal data, only anonymous, aggregate figures. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
What we store in your browser, and why
So the puzzle is there when you come back, we keep a little information in your browser's own storage. This is functional, not tracking, and it never leaves your device:
- your puzzle in progress, so you can step away and resume it,
- the picture you chose for a table,
- the tokens needed to rejoin a shared table after a refresh.
Advertising
The site is paid for by advertising, served by Google AdSense. Google may set cookies of its own or read a device identifier to decide which ad to show you and how often. We never pass them your puzzle, your pictures, your chat, or anything you type. There are no social media tracking pixels and no other embedded widgets. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent in its own window before serving a personalised ad, and leaves you a way to change that answer later. If you would rather not see the ads at all, an ad blocker is fine by us and the puzzle works exactly the same.
Clearing it
You are always in control. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything we have stored on your device, including any saved puzzle.
